From the moment that Jaquelin Kupchak was born, it was thought that she was to continue the tradition of becoming a star athlete. After all, her father had been a pro basketball star. Her mother had done more than a couple of sports during her college days. It was only natural that their child would follow in those prestigious footsteps! It was too bad that her mother gave birth to what was to become the most uncoordinated sports star ever. No, Jaquelin was not to be an athlete. That became a fact after she nearly took her gym teacher's head off in gym class one year during junior high. People always told her that since she was so tall that she should be a basketball player or do track and field but that was definitely not to be.
But even though she was never to become the star athlete her parents thought she'd be, she knew that there were bigger and better things she was destined to do. She'd always felt a bit different from the other kid's throughout school. She'd always been quite a bit taller than the kids in her classes, especially the boys in junior high and at the start of high school. It made the start of her dating 'career' very difficult since no boy wanted to be seen with a girl nearly five inches taller than them! Girls always seemed to be a bit intimidated by Jaquelin, spreading rumors about how she was spoiled and a brat. Not to say that Jaquelin didn't have her moments, just like anyone else did, but for the most part she was just a normal person. She had a few close friends that were mostly people she'd known since they were little kids growing up in the same California neighborhood and she was content to keep that little group together.
She'd never set out to become a supermodel or anything of the sort. It was a complete surprise when she was discovered while at the mall one day with one of her few female friends. How it all began was completely cliche and slightly cheesy. It was also a bit creepy at the time to be approached by a middle aged man who told Jaquelin that she had a 'unique' look and that he was a modeling scout. It had definitely sounded like a lame pick-up line to the high schooler who'd just been standing in the mall food court. But she was too polite to tell him off and had taken his business card. The rest was history, another sad cliche.
Jaquelin had been on the tail end of her father's career and the slight fame that came with being a pro athlete and eventual GM of a pro team. But she still didn't really know what it was all going to be like as she started a modeling career. Sure, she'd seen models on tv and read about them in magazines but that didn't prepare her for the countless photo shoots, meetings, castings, and everything else that went with it. She suddenly found that she didn't have as much time for her friends as she did before. There were even many days where she didn't even see her own parents or sleep in her own bed. It was all for a goal that she hadn't really been aware that she wanted. But Jaquelin guessed that being told she'd be the "next big thing" might've helped.
Traveling the country and being thrust into a completely different world than the one she knew originally presented lots of new opportunities for the girl with the dark hair and the blue eyes. While she went to parties and out on more dates than she could really count, she made sure that she kept her head on straight. Her parents did the same thing. They weren't going to let their daughter go buck wild out on her own while she persued a modeling career. Jaquelin was smart too and knew what she wanted. It was harder work than she imagined but it's lead to a lot of good things happening in her life.
With her modeling career taking off ar light speed, Jaquelin spends most of her time between New York and Los Angeles. While modeling is something that she really enjoys, especially since she's become more popular in the last year and a half, she's also made an attempt to get into acting. With a role as Annie Mills on "90210", she's hoping that it'll start the ball rolling onto a whole other world for her. It's exciting to see what the future holds and Jaquelin can't wait to see what happens next.
